New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio appointed Jessica Tisch as CIO and Commissioner of the Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications (DoITT) on Dec. 5.

The National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO) released its annual “State of the CIO Survey” today and found that state CIOs are increasingly focused on managing customer relationships.

The City of Atlanta announced the formation of the Chief Information Officer Advisory Board on April 17. The new board will “work with the City of Atlanta Information Management team to advance the technology strategy of the city,” according to the city.

NASCIO explained that it used this year’s survey as a “means for the current cadre of state CIOs to offer advice to a new generation of technology leaders that may soon be taking office.”
