The Superpublic Innovation Lab – announced earlier this year – is now open in San Francisco. The lab seeks to foster innovation and progress for the city through cross-sector collaboration, bringing down the walls among academia, state, and Federal government leaders.
The lab is a product of the partnership among the Office of Innovation, the City Innovate Foundation (a nonprofit), and the General Services Administration (GSA), which will act as the lab’s “landlord.”
In addition to a 5,000-square-foot facility in downtown San Francisco, GSA will also provide support for the lab through its agency, 18F, which will also benefit from the partnership by expanding its impact of supporting cities’ innovation.
While the specific projects are still unknown, Superpublic seeks to tackle San Francisco’s main community challenges, from transportation and poverty to tech accessibility and education.
