The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has announced $6.8 million in funding for the nonprofit CYBER.ORG to carry out its K-12 cyber education mission.
CISA said the funding comes from the Cybersecurity Education and Training Assistance Program (CETAP), and will enable CYBER.ORG “to continue to support the educational growth of elementary and secondary level students by encouraging cybersecurity literacy and instruction as well as career exploration opportunities.” CETAP initiatives provide teachers with a large library of cybersecurity educational tools, including foundational content and hands-on classroom technology.
“We are proud and excited to continue our work with CYBER.ORG, who are great partners in our efforts to accelerate essential cybersecurity learning and training,” said CISA Director Jen Easterly. “Their work in K-12 education will play a vital role in creating excitement in our youth to pursue a future career in cybersecurity.”
CYBER.ORG has worked with CISA since 2012 with the aim of ensuring that all K-12 students gain the necessary foundational and technical cybersecurity knowledge and skills to pursue a cybersecurity career.
