Cyber criminal attack groups have increased their skills, staff, and resources in the past year, making their capabilities close to those of nation-state attackers, according to a Symantec cybersecurity report.
Symantec’s 2016 Internet Security Threat Report (ISTR), released Tuesday, provides an overview and analysis of the past year in global threat activity, including emerging trends in attacks, malicious code activity, phishing, and spam.

1. Public Administration Ranks Fourth in Number of Breaches …
Public Administration accounted for 5.6 percent of the total cybersecurity breach incidents in 2015. Comparatively, the Services industry ranks first with 65.6 percent of the total breaches, of which Health Services was responsible for over half. Finance, Insurance, and Real Estate ranked second, and Retail Trade ranked third.
