As part of its broader migration to the cloud, University of Tennessee (UT) System is rolling out Oracle Fusion Cloud Student as its new student information system.
The UT System will roll out Oracle Student across its five public higher education campuses and two statewide institutes that enroll nearly 59,000 students each academic year. With the new information system, the UT System is hoping to streamline processes and make it easier for students to get the classes, financial aid, and support they need from enrollment through to graduation.
“A new, system-wide student information system will be a key component in the delivery of a more consistent and intuitive student experience focused on service excellence, increased engagement, and enhanced student success outcomes,” said Randy Boyd, president of the UT System.
“As part of the Early Adopter Program we have been able to work with Oracle to actively help shape the direction of Oracle Student,” he said. “We are confident that this investment will position the UT System at the forefront of student system technologies.”
To better serve its 59,000 students, the UT System wanted a solution that could not only securely collect and manage student data, but also use that data to drive better experiences.
Touting the possibilities of Oracle Student, the UT System said students will be able to manage their entire academic experience with tools for curriculum registry, term and non-term financial aid packaging, multi-year scenario course planning, and real-time insights. On the administrative side, the UT System administrators said they expect to have a simplified, holistic view across all the system’s data sources, enabling faster, more accurate decision making that will help ensure student success.
