Mairéad Martin has been tapped to be the next chief information officer (CIO) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC).
Currently, Martin has been working as the vice president and CIO of Educause, a nonprofit aimed at improving higher education through IT, for over three years.
Martin announced that she would be leaving Educause in a LinkedIn post stating, “It has been truly an honor to serve at Educause for the last three years with wonderful colleagues and a terrific board. I am equally honored to have the opportunity to serve at UIUC, the next big adventure!”
Prior to working at Educause, Martin had worked at educational institutions including Tufts University as the associate CIO and at the Pennsylvania State University as the senior IT director.
Martin has received a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts and sciences from the University College Dublin, as well as a master’s in information sciences from the University of Tennessee.
