The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) has named Danny Tang as its new chief information officer, effective Feb. 17.
Tang comes to the university with more than 20 years of experience in higher education information technology. Tang most recently served as associate vice president and chief information officer at Furman University in Greenville, SC.
He has held senior IT executive positions at numerous other institutions and has been responsible for a broad spectrum of IT services, including academic and research computing, administrative and student information services, business intelligence and analytics, telephony, user support services, network operations, and cybersecurity.
βI am thrilled to welcome Danny to our campus. He brings broad experience and an innovative approach that will be crucial as we continue to advance our information technology infrastructure to better serve the UAH community,β said Dr. Charles L. Karr, president at UAH.
βHe understands how to navigate a complex, research-intensive university environment, and I am confident that his vision and leadership will help the university achieve its strategic priorities,β Karr said.
