Pennsylvania’s state chief information officer (CIO) and chief technology officer (CTO) have stepped down.
CIO Amaya Capellan and CTO Brian Andrews did not specify why they left their roles. Capellan stepped into the CIO role in July 2023, while Andrews began as CTO in November 2024.
In an Oct. 10 LinkedIn post, Capallen said “leadership and I agreed that this was the right time for a transition.”
“Serving as CIO for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania over the past two years has been an incredible privilege. I came to drive change, and together we strengthened our network, enhanced our security, and made real strides in delivering better technology experiences for employees and residents across Pennsylvania,” Capallen wrote.
“There is still important work ahead, and I have every confidence that the new leaders of OIT will continue advancing the mission,” she added.
According to the state of Pennsylvania’s website, Bryanna Pardoe has stepped in as acting CIO. Pardoe previously served as the executive director of the Commonwealth Office of Digital Experience.
