The Nebraska Secretary of State’s office launched a new online voter registration system that consolidates voter registration and information services into a single platform ahead of the Nov. 3 general election.
The system, launched Sept. 15, combines the state’s VoterCheck website and online voter registration form, allowing Nebraskans to register to vote, update registration information, change party affiliation, check the status of early voting or provisional ballots, and locate polling places from one site, according to a Sept. 15 press release.
The rollout coincided with National Voter Registration Day and comes less than two months before Nebraska’s 2026 general election. The state had 1,258,669 registered voters as of Sept. 1, according to the Secretary of State’s Elections Division.
The new platform walks users through eligibility confirmation, Department of Motor Vehicles verification, address and contact information, party affiliation, and final review and submission. The system also lets voters verify an existing registration, change their residential or mailing address, change their name, or update their party affiliation.
The voter information portion of the platform allows registered voters to confirm their address and party affiliation, check absentee or provisional ballot status, and locate their polling place. Users can also check the status of a pending online voter registration with a receipt number.
“Americans are fortunate to have the right to make our voices heard at the ballot box,” Secretary of State Bob Evnen said. “We’re proud to unveil this new online voter registration system to make it simpler than ever to fulfill our civic duty. I encourage every eligible Nebraskan to verify they are registered and vote on November 3.”
The consolidated system is expected to reduce the administrative workload for county election officials by streamlining registration and reducing duplicate applications, the Secretary of State’s office said.
The deadline to register online for the Nov. 3 general election is Oct. 16.
