California has selected two industry partners for its Next Generation 911 (NG911) Alert and Warning System, which serves as the state’s emergency mass notification system.
The state has decided to work with Atos Public Safety and Rave Mobile Safety to deploy the new platform. Atos Public Safety will serve as the Prime Network Service Provider for California’s NG911 infrastructure project and will manage the overall project. Rave Mobile Safety will provide critical emergency alert notifications to residents and first responders and also serve as the platform for initiating the state’s Integrated Public Alert & Warning System (IPAWS) communications.
The Rave Mobile Safety alerting platform will allow state leaders to send messages quickly and reliably in just three clicks across multiple modes of communication to communicate with residents and emergency responders during events such as earthquakes, wildfires, civil disturbances, and major sporting events.
The solution will seamlessly integrate with California’s NG911 system, enabling agencies to ensure phone numbers and GIS data sets are synchronized. Additionally, with the platform’s role-based access control capability, emergency managers can access neighboring agencies’ systems for back-up and redundancy, ensuring seamless communication and reliability in the most stressful of circumstances.
