Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger launched a new chatbot on Oct. 8 to help residents find information on the agency’s website more quickly and reduce reliance on its call center.
The chatbot, GABBY – short for Georgia’s Automated Bot, Built for You – allows residents to access information directly through the secretary of state’s website without navigating multiple webpages or contacting agency staff for assistance.
According to an Oct. 8 press release, the tool is part of the secretary of state’s broader effort to modernize agency operations, streamline services, and improve access to government information.
“Georgians shouldn’t have to spend their time searching through a government website or waiting on the phone to get a simple question answered,” Raffensperger said. “GABBY puts information at Georgians’ fingertips and is another step toward making government more accessible, efficient, and responsive to the people we serve.”
The chatbot draws exclusively from information published on the secretary of state’s website, an approach the agency said is intended to ensure users receive accurate responses.
