How Can Generative AI Enhance the State and Local Government Experience?

Alongside many organizations, state and local governments are exploring Generative AI (GenAI) opportunities to improve efficiency, empower employees, and ultimately deliver exceptional services to citizens.

Las Vegas will use a $1.4 million Federal grant to deploy artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to improve pedestrian safety within the Freemont Street corridor, a popular pedestrian entertainment area.

The chief information officer (CIO) for Clark County, Nev. – which houses the city of Las Vegas – aims to bring broadband to 100 percent of eligible residents and businesses through access, affordability, and adoption.

The General Services Administration (GSA) is well-known for its work implementing tech solutions across the Federal government, but a GSA official this week praised the work being done at the municipal level to provide 5G services in cities across the country.

The City of Las Vegas announced in a series of tweets on Jan. 8 that it dodged a major cyberattack. The city said it experienced a cyber compromise in the early morning hours of Jan. 7, but that it “immediately took steps to protect our data systems.”

Las Vegas wants to be a leader in technology. The city is working with Cisco to test new Internet of Things technologies via pilot programs in the Innovation District.
