Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker has tapped Melissa Scott to become the city’s new chief information officer (CIO). Scott will also lead the city’s Office of Innovation and Technology.

In a bit to increase government accessibility, Philadelphia’s Office of Innovation and Technology (OIT) and the Office of Immigrant Affairs (OIA) have launched the Translation Services Expansion project.

Following the 2022 midterm elections, Philadelphia’s Board of Ethics (BoE) and the Office of Innovation and Technology’s (OIT) CityGeo team have launched an interactive dashboard for the city’s campaign finance data.

In a bid to make filing taxes a little bit easier, the city of Philadelphia has launched a new cloud-based tax system.

On Wednesday, Philadelphia’s city commissioners approved the purchase of a new voting system that should be in place for the 2020 election cycle. The new system, according to a statement from the state government, has “updated standards for security, auditability, and accessibility.”

First responders said they are both cautious and optimistic about introducing their departments to some of the latest first responder technology, which was demonstrated at a Department of Homeland Security-sponsored event March 1.
