The Maryland Department of Information Technology (DoIT), in collaboration with the Maryland Department of Disabilities and the Office of State Procurement within the Maryland Department of General Service, has launched the state’s first-ever Accessibility Officer Initiative with the ultimate goal of improving digital services accessibility in the state.

Maryland Gov. Wes Moore said the state is getting ready to undertake a modernization overhaul of the Maryland Department of Information Technology (MDIT) and is creating new senior leadership roles to help reach that goal.

The Maryland Department of Information Technology (MDIT) on March 28 announced the launch of its redesigned Open Data Portal, which supports 60,000 unique users accessing roughly 1,300 publicly available datasets annually.
