The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) announced on March 10 that it authorized more than $640 million through the Rural Digital Opportunity Fund to provide new broadband deployments in 26 states that will bring service to nearly 250,000 locations.

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) said it will commit another $86 million in the tenth wave funding to its Emergency Connectivity Fund (ECF) program.

The Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee held a second hearing Feb. 9 on the nomination of Gigi Sohn to become an FCC commissioner, which produced little in the way of new information about her qualifications for the position, and not much insight into when or whether the Senate may take action to confirm the nomination.
