The Department of Energy’s (DoE) Office of Cybersecurity, Energy Security, and Emergency Response (CESER) has announced $15 million in funding to establish six university-based electric power cybersecurity centers that will foster collaboration across the energy sector to address gaps in energy security research and provide cybersecurity education programs. 

The U.S. Department of Energy (DoE) announced on Aug. 30 that the agency is soliciting input on its plans to provide $2.5 billion of grant money for electric grid resilience, and $3 billion in grant funding for electric power “smart grid” projects.

The Department of Energy (DoE) said on July 6 that it will prioritize awards under a $2.3 billion power grid modernization grant funding program to include systems at risk of disruptive events including cyber attacks.
