Scooter-rental companies in Los Angeles are split over whether to comply with the Los Angeles Department of Transportation’s (LADOT) request for them to provide real-time location data for their scooters.
The states of Georgia, Illinois, Tennessee, Massachusetts, and Maryland have all discussed bills that restrict automated vehicle testing to motor vehicle manufacturers, which puts technology companies like Uber and Waymo at a disadvantage.
Uber will make its traffic data available to local government officials, with plans to eventually make the data accessible to everyone.
